What is the cash flow statement?

The cash flow statement is a financial document that traces a company's cash inflows and outflows over a given period. It focuses solely on actual cash movements.

It is generally structured in three parts:

Cash flow from operating activities : It represents the money generated by the «core business» (sales, customer receipts, supplier payments, salaries). It is the key indicator of the viability of the business model.
